Mother Daughter Sewing Lesson
- Beginning to Intermediate Level
- 11 years to adult
- About four hours with a lunch break
First Session:
Tea Party Theme. We will be making some useful items to use in entertaining or gift giving. Come with your favorite kitchen color fabrics and your own tea pot. This class incudes the making of a tea cozy for your tea pot and other useful items.
Upon registration, pick up your list of items to bring, including your own machine in good working order. We will have a lunch break so you can bring your own lunch or plan a quick break to local dining spots. Teacher instructed cozy making by Kathy who has been teaching quilting and various crafts for over 25 years. See materials needed below.
Basic Requirements for the Class
- A good working machine including manual
- Prerequisite for this class is to be able to thread, wind bobbins and sew on your own.
- If you need your machine repaired, call Doc Stitches in Scotts Valley, 1-831-438-3507
- Thread some bobbins in a neutral grey or off white, a few of these will be helpful to save time.
- Cutting mat,
- Olfa cutter with extra blade,
- scissors to cut fabric
- seam ripper,
- 6x24, 6x6 inch rulers with a 45 degree angle,
- reg. quilt pins,
Additional Supplies
- Half yard fabric
- Half yard quilted lining to coordinate
- 1/4 yard of batting
- 1/4 yard of Insulbrite, available at SueDee's
- package of single or double fold quilt binding
- Decorations such as trims, buttons, laces, doilies
- One and a half yard of cording optional
