The Kaleidoscope Pinwheel Class
Kathy teaches the Stack-n-whack method on this two day class. The magic of cutting the pinwheels all at once to create a different effect with each block is quite amazing. She will demonstrate the cutting technique in the 1st class and give finishing instructions to put the quilt together in the 2nd session.
The quilts at the bottom of this page are a sample of what you can make if you attend.
Basic Requirements for the Class
- A working machine
- Please double check your machine beforehand
- Thread some bobbins in a neutral grey or off white, a few of these will be helpful to save time.
- Cutting mat,
- Olfa cutter with extra blade,
- scissors,
- seam ripper,
- 6x24, 6x6 inch rulers with a 45 degree angle,
- flat flower head pins,
- reg. quilt pins,
Additional Requirements
for the Pinwheel Class
- The book, Magic Stack n Whack Quilts, by Bethany Reynolds.
- For the materials yardage, check page 29
- You will need the main fabric
- Look for fabric that has pizzaz, color, variety, large prints.
- Look carefully at the chart to see how much you will need of the A fabric which depends on the width of the repeat. Refer to the kaleidoscope pinwheel, using the half square triangle magic, look at pictures on pg. 28, 36.

We will be making the Kaleidoscope Pinwheel quilt. For the materials yardage check page 29. The measurement of the repeat is key. This would be the main fabric. You will need the main fabric and background block fabric, A and B, look carefully at the chart.
